Morrow Contracts has significant experience in the management, implementation and execution of Potable Water projects.

In response to the European Drinking Water Directive, which stipulates decreasing the amount of lead allowed in drinking water by 50%, Morrow Contracts is currently executing a large scale PVC pipe replacement programme across Northern Ireland.

For its client, Northern Ireland Water, Morrow has been working for a number of years to replace the communication pipes and will continue to work with NI Water on this major project until its completion.

In addition to lead pipe replacements, other Potable Water (drinking water) works include:

  1. Repair and replacement of water mains, communication pipes, stop cocks, valves, hydrants, fittings and cut & proves
  2. Minor infrastructure improvements to water networks
  3. Road reinstatement & street furniture repairs
  4. New customer connections
  5. New mains laid to housing developments  / new commercial properties
  6. Repair and replacement of private service pipes and internal plumbing repairs
  7. Service reservoir cleaning

The Portable Water materials that Morrow Contracts has experience of working with includes: polyvinyl chloride (PVC/uPVC), ductile iron, steel, cast iron, polypropylene, polyethylene and copper.
